My role is to identify new and support / improve existing digital revenue opportunities and to accelerate the process in bringing these revenue streams online. In addition I am expected to expand the integration of our traditional press activity and migrate our content online through the use of various innovative technologies.

 

Key Achievements:

 

  • Play a key role in identifying and bringing to market a number of revenue generating online digital initiates and platforms such as websites, mobile and bluetooth
  • Created a marketing campaign to promote the many aspects of my employers consumer products called “It’s all about you”.
  • Successful Management of other staff members in my team, ensuring their continued support, ongoing buy-in and personal development
  • Contributed to modernisation and streamlining of pre-press production processes resulting in improved workflow and massive cost savings for my employer
  • Chosen from over 5000 employees to be part of a 9 person group to work on the project team for Trinity Mirror’s largest single ever digital product launch
  • Merging digital activities between SDRSM LTD and S&UN Ltd to form a single view of digital activity in Scotland for Trinity Mirror plc (Media Scotland)

  • I was identified by my ex-college as having a firm grasp of current workplace practices in regards to online design and commercial implementation. To this end I was approached by the head of multimedia at the College (then called Building & Printing) to take an evening class once a week for mature and further learning students. I enjoyed this part-time evening role, which ran in parallel to my daytime position within SDRSM.

Initially employed as a graphic designer, I was quickly promoted to assistant production manager, managing over 20 staff and overseeing the pre-press production of Scottish Auto Trader Magazine and Ad Trader publications.

  • Played important role in modernising the pre-production process
  • Supported the Production Manager, assuming full responsibility in his absence
  • Introduced new creative and technological ideas to drive the business forward
